Inspiring minds through short, powerful talks
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to sharing ideas worth spreading through concise, powerful talks covering science, technology, design, and more. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. Founded in 1984, TED brings together visionaries and practitioners to deliver short, engaging presentations that inform, inspire, and challenge audiences. TED’s mission is to foster learning and spark conversation by showcasing innovative ideas from diverse perspectives. Community-driven events in the spirit of TED
In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSutherland, where x = independently organized TED event, licensed by TED. These gatherings feature live speakers, curated TED Talk videos, and discussions that spark dialogue and foster connections at the community level. Organized by volunteers, TEDx events follow TED’s format and spirit, adapting content to reflect local cultures and stories. By empowering communities to host their own events, TEDx amplifies diverse voices, ignites innovation, and catalyzes positive change, building a network united by ideas worth spreading.
