How is TEDx different from TED?

TED is a global nonprofit organisation devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TEDx events, like TEDxSutherland, are independently organised under license from TED, following the same spirit and guidelines while being tailored to our local community.

Where is TEDxSutherland held?

TEDxSutherland is hosted by Inaburra School, Bangor

Who can attend TEDxSutherland?

Anyone with a curious mind and passion for learning is welcome! Our audience includes community members, professionals, creatives, students and change-makers from all walks of life.

How is TEDxSutherland funded?

TEDxSutherland is a not-for-profit event. We are funded through ticket sales, sponsorships, and in-kind support from our valued partners.

How can my company get involved as a partner?

We welcome partnerships with organisations that align with our values of innovation, sustainability, community, and global responsibility. Opportunities include sponsorship, in-kind contributions, gift bag inclusions, catering, and more. Visit our “Partner With Us” page for details.

Will the talks be recorded?

Yes. All talks will be professionally recorded and published on the official TEDx YouTube channel, making them accessible to a global audience.

Who are the speakers?

Our speakers are carefully curated thought leaders, innovators, and storytellers from diverse fields. Speaker announcements will be shared on our website and social media as the event approaches. You can find the speakers for our upcoming event on the ‘speakers’ tab.

How can I apply to be a speaker?

We run a curation process each year. Our speaker opportunities are currently filled for our next event.
